The access control lists (ACL) management in the given software product is based on a different approach from the standard. It is expressed in more convenient data presentation, according to their real arrangement in ACL. You can set object permissions as is determined at a level operational system. All flags are accessible to you, and their names same as in the technical documentation. You can read in more detail about each flag of access in corresponding references or to take advantage of the built-in assistant. You can keep ACL in a file of format XML and then use it repeatedly.

In the program you operate with the accounts list or single object. User accounts list is the container. It contains list of all accounts determined for the given computer. All accounts presents as three lists (user accounts, local groups and global groups). Having chosen the necessary list, you get access to corresponding functions. Functions are concentrated in the menu "Action" on the "Properties" tab. The given menu dynamically changes during work with different types of accounts and is duplicated as contextual at a selected object in the list. The mechanism of a choice of accounts in the list is completely similar to the mechanism of a choice in "Explorer".

may become the new Windows standard in the next years, I decided to write a program which offers the ease-of-use of Windows 9x/Me ERU by Microsoft (hence the name ERUNT) to backup the registry, as well as
providing an auto-backup capability, for example at Windows startup, and command-line switches.

Or, before installing a new program for testing purposes one could save the registry with ERUNT, install and test the program, uninstall it and restore the registry to be 100% sure that no debris is left from the program.

The installer includes NTRegOpt, a registry size reducer.

RegCool is a full-featured Registry editor and manager. It allows you to cut, copy, paste, move, delete, and rename keys and values. It offers an explorer style; interface remote Registry editing; .reg and hive (Regedit and RegEdt32 compatible) file editing; import, export, backup, and restore functionality; and flexible property pages for setting keys and values. An addressbar allows you to access registry keys and values quicly. Especially practical is the option to compare various registries.

Resource Hacker is a freeware utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit Windows executables and resource files (*.res). It incorporates an internal resource script compiler and decompiler.

Conditionally services are divided into two categories - Services and Devices. Services, as a rule, related to hight level of functioning of operational system. Devices represent the low level responsible for interrelation of physical computer components to logic OS components. Mechanism of management Service and Device in system similar. Distinction consists in ability to set any "Log On Account" to Service. For Devices "Log On Account" always is "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM".

To control services (devices drivers) it is possible either from the list or having chosen necessary service (device driver) in the tree. Last gives more possibilities. However, using the list to operate with groups (marking necessary objects according to the certain criterion, for example, according to the start file location, a status and etc.). Shell Extensions are in-process COM objects which extends the abilities of Windows operating system. Most shell extensions are automatically installed by the operating system, but there are also many other applications that install additional shell extension components. For example: If you install WinZip on your computer, you'll see a special WinZip menu when you right-click on a Zip file. This menu is created by adding a shell extension to the system.

The ShellExView utility displays the details of shell extensions installed on your computer, and allows you to easily disable and enable each shell extension.

ShellMenuView is a small utility that display the list of static menu items that appeared in the context menu when you right-click a file/folder on Windows Explorer, and allows you to easily disable unwanted menu items.

ShortcutsMan displays the details about all shortcuts that you have on your desktop and under your start menu. Broken shortcuts (shortcuts that point to file that doesn't exist) are automatically painted with pink color. You select one or more shortcuts, and then delete them, resolve them or save the shortcut's details to HTML/Text/XML file.

This utility, which has the most comprehensive knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them. These programs include ones in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other Registry keys. A "show non-Microsoft only" option helps you to zoom in on third-party auto-starting images that have been added to your system. You can disable, reanable, delete any entry. You'll probably be surprised at how many executables are launched automatically!

MyUninstaller is an alternative utility to the standard Add/Remove applet of Windows operating system. It displays the list of all installed application, and allows you to uninstall an application, delete an uninstall entry, and save the list of all installed applications into a text file or HTML file.
MyUninstaller also provides additional information for most installed applications that the standard Add/Remove applet doesn't display: product name, company, version, uninstall string, installation folder and more.

EXT2IFS is an Installable File System Driver (IFS) for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP. The driver can read the Second Extended File System (EXT2) and Third Extended File System (EXT3).
By installing the driver you will be able to read files off your Linux filesystems using all the standard methods you use to access NTFS and FAT filesystems. That means you can use Explorer, cmd.exe and any other application to copy and read the files.

Windows 9x and Windows NT do not ship with out-of-the-box support for reading Macintosh Hierarchical File System (HFS) formatted media, and some third party solution is therefore needed.

NTFSDOS Professional mounts your NTFS volumes and gives them drive letters, so you can run applications and use files on NTFS volumes transparently. NTFSDOS Professional is small enough to run from a MS-DOS boot diskette so you can even access NTFS volumes on a system where Windows NT/2000/XP isn't installed or able to boot.

Error Messages for Windows is a small utility that will allow you to look up MS Windows error code numbers and display a descriptive message explaining what the numeric code actually means. If you have software programs that produce numeric error codes now you can find out what they really mean.

Error Messages for Windows also provides a facility to display and print all of the error codes and messages defined for your version of MS Windows.

The MMCompView utility displays the details of all installed multimedia components (Codec and ActiveX filters) and allows you to disable and enable specific components.

Many OpenGL extensions, as well as extensions to related APIs like GLU, GLX, and WGL, have been defined by vendors and groups of vendors.The extension registry is maintained by SGI and contains specifications for all known extensions, written as modifications to the appropriate specification documents.

The registry also defines naming conventions, guidelines for creating new extensions and writing suitable extension specifications, and other related documentation.

This program displays the vendor name, the version implemented, the renderer name and the extensions of the current OpenGL 3D accelerator.

If you have an Internet connection, you can retrieve from SGI the extension's specifications that explain the available extensions.

WinUpdatesList displays the list of all Windows updates (Service Packs and Hotfixes) installed on your local computer. For hotfix updates, this utility also displays the list of files updated with these hotfixes. In addition, it allows you to instantly open the Web link in Microsoft Web site that provides more information about the selected update, uninstall an update, copy the update information to the clipboard, or save it to text/HTML/XML file.

BootLog logs the boots, shutdowns and crashes of Windows.

Boolog.exe makes a login entry in a log file when Windows boots and during a regular shut down it makes a logout entry. If Windows crashes there will not be any logout entry written in the log file, so BootLog can calculate the crash time based on the next login entry.

BootLogV.exe analyses the log file and generates some diagrams with useful information for instance about the system stability.

Installation :

FileMon monitors and displays file system activity on a system in real-time. SpeedFan is a freeware program that monitors fan speeds , temperatures and voltages in computers with hardware monitoring chips. SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T. info for those hard disks that support this feature and show hard disk temperatures too, if supported. SpeedFan can even change the FSB on some motherboards (but this should be considered a bonus feature). At the lowest level, SpeedFan is an hardware monitoring software, but its main feature is that it can control the speed of the fans (depending on the capabilities of your sensor chip and your hardware) according to the temperatures inside your pc, thus reducing noise and power consumption. SpeedFan can be a good tool to build a silent PC, with an overall low dbA emission. Several sensors, like Winbond's and ASUS AS99127F support fan speed changing, as well as others from MAXIM, MYSON, ANALOG DEVICES, NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTORS and ITE, but the motherboard manufacturer must have connected the relevant pins to some additional, yet trivial, circuitry. This means that if you have, say, a W83782D on a BP6 then you're ok, but not every motherboard with such an hardware monitoring chip will be able to change fan speeds. SpeedFan can find almost any hardware monitoring chip connected to the SMBus (a subset of the I2C BUS), to the ISA BUS and to nVidia Video Cards.

XP_PageFileMon.exe is a Visual Basic 6 program which will check your Page File settings and usage. You can display the results in a popup window and/or create a log file. This utility should run on Windows 2000, as well, but you'll need the VB6 Runtimes installed.

Regmon is a Registry monitoring utility that will show you which applications are accessing your Registry, which keys they are accessing, and the Registry data that they are reading and writing - all in real-time. This advanced utility takes you one step beyond what static Registry tools can do, to let you see and understand exactly how programs use the Registry. The Process Explorer display consists of two sub-windows.
